The festival features an incredibly diverse lineup of talented musicians from around the world performing across several stages throughout the five-day affair. In addition to enjoying the live music, guests can peruse arts and crafts booths displaying unique items including sculpture, jewelry, fine art, instruments and pottery. Everyone is family at this lively event that encourages visitors and locals alike to learn about French and Caribbean heritage and take part in this grand celebration.

The Acadian Awakening Music Fest will take place Friday – Sunday, Oct. 2 – 4, at the Lake Charles Civic Center with Lake Charles serving as the opening ceremonies for the event which spans many destinations throughout South Louisiana, Oct. 3-12. Marking the 250th Anniversary of the arrival of the Acadian people, this festival is a celebration our unique culture, music & traditions.
This weekend is the 33rd annual Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Festival, and there’s a great lineup scheduled.

This year, the festival pays tribute to the late John Delafose, and features Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie; Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band; Lil Nate and Zydeco Big Timers; Leon Chaves and many others.
