Lake Charles man charged with third-offense DWI


LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) –A Lake Charles man has been charged with third-offense DWI, following a traffic stop by deputies with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.

The traffic stop took place at about 11:34 a.m. in Lake Charles on a car driven by 25-year-old Joshua Arceneaux. 

Arceneaux was given a standard field sobriety test, on which he performed poorly. He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on charges of DWI third-offense, operating a vehicle while under suspension for a prior DWI arrest and a traffic violation. 

According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Arceneaux was previously arrested on DWI charges in 2010 and 2011. He will now be barred from operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license and without an ignition interlock device.

Arceneaux’s bond was set at $8,500 by Judge Sharon Wilson.
