LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) –Two more Lake Charles residents have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting last week on Cline Street, city police said.
Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said Jessica Lynn Bartie, 28, and LaBrandon Bartie, 33, were arrested Monday on charges of accessory after the fact to attempted second-degree murder.
Jessica Bartie’s bond was set at $200,000 while LaBrandon Bartie’s bond was set at $250,000.
Kraus said the investigation is on going.
Three other people have already been arrested in connection with the July 25 drive-by shooting that left a 28-year-old male injured.
El Jerico Jermiah Bartie was arrested Saturday night after a 30-minute standoff with police at a Sulphur hotel.
The Lake Charles and Sulphur police departments said El Jerico Bartie fired multiple shots at them after they tried to serve him a warrant in connection with the drive-by.
According to authorities, El Jerico Bartie intentionally shot his wife, 25-year-old Katie Marie Mancil, during the incident at the hotel. Authorities said they did not return fire and no one else was injured in the incident.
His charges include eight counts of attempted first-degree murder of a police officer, attempted second-degree murder, four counts of attempted manslaughter, assault by drive-by shooting, aggravated second-degree battery, illegal possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, unlawful use or possession of body armor, false imprisonment, illegal use of dangerous instrumentalities.
His bond was set at $2.6 million.
Mancil was treated and released from a local hospital and later arrested on a charge of accessory after the fact to attempted second-degree murder. Her bond was set at $250,000.
Amber Trahan, 22, was arrested Friday in connection with the drive-by shooting. She has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, assault by drive-by shooting and illegal use of dangerous instrumentalities. Her bond was set at $1.1 million.
